Just had an excellent dinner here!! The handmade pastas were clearly the best part. I loved the lasagna as well as the spaghetti carbonara. Pastas were cooked perfectly and just no complaints about either of them. Didn’t care much for the bread or the salad though—could have used more peaches!
An absolute delight! Every bite was pure indulgence, rich, velvety, and bursting with authentic Italian flavors. The perfect balance of freshness and decadence made this dish truly unforgettable. A must-try for anyone who appreciates fine Italian cuisine! The osso buco here is simply outstanding! Slow braised to perfection, the meat is incredibly tender, falling off the bone with the slightest touch. But the real star? The luscious bone marrow; silky, decadent, and absolutely irresistible, paired with creamy saffron risotto, this dish is the ultimate Italian indulgence. To top it off, the waiter Antonio is such a sweet and welcoming guy, making the dining experience even more special. A must visit!
Amazing food and experience! We had our little one with us and once we were seated they instinctively asked us if we wanted to start the kid's pasta dish before we even ordered our own entrees because the kids get hangry. And our entrees didn't get served until they saw his was almost finished because our entrees would've gotten child
Excellent food and service. Definitely worth the visit when in Boston. Reservations recommended even on a weeknight. The meatball appetizer was incredible. The house lasagna was wonderful and the ossobuco alla Milanese is a must. Parking is tight and use Uber or Lyft especially in the winter.
A delicious, authentic Italian place and experience. Service was homely. The handmade pasta is fresh and pure. The fresh tomatoes are rich in flavor and the perfect texture. The Handmade bread was warm and dense- It hit the spot.
We were fortunate enough to get seated at a table by the window and it felt like we were on vacation somewhere much warmer. Got the shrimp and zucchini flowers as appetizers and they were stellar, the shrimp wasn’t very “shareable” size Gnocchi, linguini, lasagna and clam spaghetti for lunch and everything came out great. Served on a pan was a great touch and I’d come back any day.
Trattoria II Panino, Hanover Street , North End. Spacious dining and bar area. Reservations recommended. Dined in week night. Seated quickly. Served bread hard bread, had softened up by generous olive oil. Menu choices and are on the lesser side, to me that’s a good thing. Extensive wine menu. Ordered Trombetta Al Pesto , and the house Moms Lasagna. Both dishes served hot. Excellent fresh flavors and ingredients. The Trombetta Al Pesto stood out as exceptionally well done. Mom’s lasagna was close though. Service was mediocre however. Not bad but not exceptional. Service could take this eatery to a higher level. Customers need a bit more attention. Dining area is nicely appointed with a downstairs dining area.
Trattoria Il Panino exceeded every expectation — even during the chaos of Boston Marathon weekend. We were seated immediately at our reservation time, despite the crowds, and the staff went above and beyond by kindly storing our three pieces of luggage while we ate (we had an overnight layover in Boston). Service was lightning fast, and our server Justine was phenomenal. She somehow anticipated our needs before we even voiced them — seriously felt like she was reading our minds. On top of that, she was knowledgeable, hilarious, and truly elevated our dining experience. We were sat, ordered, ate, and paid in under an hour, and not once did it feel rushed — just seamless, efficient service. Every single dish was a 10/10. And let me just say: the olive oil on the table? The best we've ever had. Justine even told us where we could go buy it down the street! Highly recommend Trattoria Il Panino if you're ever in Boston. And bonus — Mike’s Pastry is just two doors down for the perfect post-dinner treat!
